How do free applications earn money other than playing advertisements?

How do free applications earn money other than playing advertisements?

A one liner explains it all :

" WhatsApp is not their product. It is YOU ".

 They sell you.
Have you ever read  T&C while signing up?

I think you are aware of Facebook's WhatsApp acquisition.
After this acquisition, I can find my whatsapp contacts being shown as friend suggestions on Facebook.
That means, it is clear that whatsapp shares data with its parent Facebook.

The size of the deal is 19 billion$ (Page on forbes.com ) only because Facebook thinks "Our Data is worth it"

These companies play with our data and do all sorts of analytics and come up with a solution what we want (bit of optimism).
21st century internet users should understand that their data is not secure on cloud. And this is obvious.

Hanuman travelled to Patala Loka (South America) through a Tunnel worshipped in south America

Hanuman travelled to Patala Loka (South America) through a Tunnel worshipped in south America During battle between Rama and Ravana, Mahiravana, the step-brother of Ravana kidnaps Rama and Lakshmana and takes them to Patala Loka through a tunnel. Patala Loka is described to be exactly below earth (then India) and one has to go 70000 yojanas deeper in earth to reach to reach there. Mexico and Brazil are exactly below India and one has to dig a hole(tunnel) of that distance to travel vertically. There are few such tunnels which are said to be leading to Patala Loka. The Patalkot valley in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, India is one among them. Ravana’s son Indrajit is killed by Lakshmana, Ravana calls his brother Ahiravana for help. Ahiravana, the king of Patala, promises to help. Vibhishana somehow manages to hear about the plot and warns Rama about it. Hanuman is put on guard and told not to let anyone into the room where Rama and Lakshmana are. Ahirav...

What tricks do you know about mobiles and computers which most people are usually unaware of?

Hi, I will try to structure the answer in sections. Check if your phone supports  QuickCharge.  If it does, get a QuickCharger today!! Trust me, though the quickcharge adapter is expensive (close to INR 1100.00 for a branded Samsung charger), it is totally worth it. The time it takes to full charge your phone will be halved or even less. Use Airplane mode to charge your phone. This will ensure a marginally quicker charge. Ensure that your battery does not get very hot. The lithium-ion batteries are very bad against heat and that can quickly shorten the overall life of the battery. When not in use, try to keep the GPS on "Device Only"mode. This will also help you squeeze the last bit of juice for a longer time. Try to use only branded chargers for your phone. Charging your phone Via laptop/computer will give you slow charge speed. Your Ambient light sensor might waste more battery than it saves. This is because it constantly monitors your ambie...

Good intention but poor thinking - what troubles demonetization?

Good intention but poor thinking - what troubles demonetization? Prime Minister’s surprising demonetization experiment has rich credibility and shows his commitment towards black money fight. People have extended tremendous support as well and are ready to bear further for the success of the programme. At the same time, the programme has exposed some serious and unbelievably low quality thinking at the top level when comes to practical implementation. At the end of the first few day’s experiment, the demonetization is going on but the opposite process of monetization is facing tremendous difficulties. The inability to grasp relative importance of the most sought currencies – Rs 500 and Rs 1000 and to design and print them new in advance is a major failure. Following are some of the defects at the implementation levels. Mistake 1: Rs 2000 notes can’t fill the transaction needs of this billion plus economy along with too smaller denominations. The mistake of replacing the...
